Matt Bates : Grade 2

Nineteen-year-old, Matt Bates is the Wildcats number 8 for the 2008 season. The Exeter born rider joined Weymouth this winter for a second time after first riding at the Wessex back in 2005. After a short spell here, he moved on to Mildenhall where he suffered a broken back on his debut for them. Since returning in 2006 he has rode mainly in the Academy league for Poole and Somerset as well as being a squad member at both Plymouth and Oxford. When Matt rides for the Wildcats he will certainly not make up the numbers.
