The Weymouth Doonan Wildcats welcome
the Somerset Giants to the Wessex Stadium
this Saturday, 3rd May in their last
challenge match before they commence
their assault on this seasons Conference
League. After last weeks convincing
victory over a strong Newport Mavericks
Select side, the team will be hoping
they can continue in the same vein.
Phil Bartlett Wildcats Chairman said
“Last week we saw the lads starting
to gel as a team. Although I don’t want
to single out any one performance, Tim
Webster has so far exceeded our expectations
and Brendan Johnson has been doing well
in the awkward number 2 slot. Luke is
riding as if he has never been away
and Jon Armstrong and Jay Herne have
both done exactly what I knew they would.
Karl Mason has had multiple mechanical
problems and has sent his engines for
a re-build, I know he has the ability
he just needs to get rid of the gremlins.”
The Wildcats hit the road on Bank Holiday
Monday when they face the long trek
to Scunthorpe where they take on the
Saints in their first league meeting.
Jem Dicken Wildcats team manager is
confident about the Wildcats chances,
“We need the whole team firing up there
and speaking to the lads after last
weeks meeting they were quietly confident.
I think we are in with a strong chance”.
